The West Paces Hotel Group is partnering with Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama on a new curriculum for the University’s bachelor’s and master’s programs in hotel and restaurant management, and on the operation of the University’s 247-room Hotel and Dixon Conference Center.

This unique opportunity was initiated by Dr. June Henton, dean of the College of Human Sciences, who recognized that for Auburn’s successful academic program to stay up-to-speed with the hospitality industry, a dynamic new academic model, driven by the industry’s top quality standards and practices, was in order.

West Paces has integrated their internationally renowned scientific approach to customer-focused service excellence into the College curriculum. In addition to providing classroom instruction, the hotel’s executive staff oversees student work in practical labs. As a result, Auburn students can now learn in a hands-on, customer-focused problem solving environment that balances theory with practical experience.

The College of Human Sciences at Auburn University offers the BS in hotel and restaurant management, and the MS and PhD. in nutrition and food sciences with emphasis in nutrition, food science or hotel and restaurant management.
